Are you providing care to an
adult family member or friend?

Then you are a caregiver!

A caregiver is a family member or friend who provides unpaid support and care for a loved one who is frail, elderly, chronically ill or has a long term illness or disability. Care giving may take place anywhere including in the home and the care facility.

“There are only four kinds of people:

Those that were caregivers,
Those that are caregivers,
Those that will be caregivers,
Those that need caregivers.

That pretty much covers it”
(Rosalyn Carter, former first lady, USA at a Caregivers Convention of the Well Spouse)

As a caregiver, you may be feeling:

  • Exhausted
  • Frustrated
  • Angry
  • Isolated
  • Lost and bereaved
  • Confused about how and when to access community resources

If you are feeling any of the above as a caregiver, you are not alone!
